K and Komp did not begin as a business idea.
It began with a personal journey that taught me what it truly means to be present for another person.
For many years, I supported my mother through her journey with bipolar disorder. Walking alongside her through different phases of health and emotion taught me patience, resilience, and the quiet power of reassurance. I learned that care is not simply about helping someone complete tasks. It is about helping them feel safe, understood, and supported.
That experience changed the way I view care.
As the years passed, I began noticing a similar need around me. Whether it was my mother’s friends or the parents of my own friends, many seemed to share one common reality: when they longed for someone to be there, there often wasn’t anyone present.
Many seniors were living independently while their children lived in other cities or countries, carrying a constant concern about their parents’ well-being.
At the same time, Coimbatore was welcoming people from around the world who had travelled here for medical treatment, often finding themselves in an unfamiliar city, away from family and familiar comforts.
While their circumstances were different, their needs were remarkably similar.
They needed someone they could trust.
Someone who could accompany them to an appointment.
Someone who could help them navigate an unfamiliar environment.
Someone who could offer reassurance, conversation, and a caring presence.
Someone who could simply be there.
I realised that what many people were looking for was not just assistance.
They were looking for companionship.
They were looking for connection.
They were looking for peace of mind.
That realisation led to the creation of K and Komp. This name reflects two things people need the most in times of need: care and companionship.
Whether it is accompanying someone to a hospital appointment, helping them settle into a new environment, providing support during recovery, or simply sharing meaningful conversation, our work is guided by empathy, dignity, and respect.
